I am with you I have now deactivated my account twice and reactivated and although still there I feel when I go on I am invisible, used to be people commented on your posts but not so much now. Like you I like to know what people are thinking but not that they are having cofffe (yawn)but that is not happening so I am seriously thinking of jumping ship again.

Let me know if you ever create a friendly and easier one to use.

I’ve been using computers since the early 80s as well and find Facebook impossible to navigate. There is nothing user friendly…and I really get tired of jumping thru the hoops. I have FB but I hardly go there. I cringe when I do have to visit my FB page…since I know it will be so frustrating. Maybe we should all get together and create our own version….friendly and easy.

I can see why you’re taking a break from FB. I’m a reasonably computer-capable person, and I still get headaches trying to navigate through the maze Facebook has constructed around my shop’s fan page, particularly, as you’ve said, my inability to have a separate login and shop identity distinct from my personal login.

I have a personal page and fan page with facebook and like yourself do not find it user friendly at all! I consider myself quite computer savvy and have no problems using other networks. I also had a paid advertisement on facebook that I paid for and keep getting charged for even though I have already paid the account.

I am closing my fan page down.

Yes, I have also been familiar with PC for many years and find Facebook not familiar and not as usefull as it’s been recomended… I think you are wright in most of your points, maybe just sometimse you were threated bad by their staff, and these are people – maybe if you had met other… but how many times you could have a bad luck?

I’ve been using computers since 1984. I find Facebook to be one of the most confusing and inconsistent interfaces I’ve ever encountered – I detailed some of these in my post. A lot of the people I talk to find Facebook confusing too. It’d help if Facebook had consistent navigation and terminology throughout its site. Good UIs follow established guidelines.

There’s a lot of things that mystify me about the Facebook UI – the tabbed interface, how you can’t post links on the links tab (the links from your Wall go there), no OK or cancel buttons in a lot of the screens/dialogs – the list goes on…

Most of your problems don’t seem to be with facebook. Most of them seem to stem from your lack of understanding how to use it. Maybe get someone who is computer savvy to show you how?
