Prior to his departure to Washington in 1861, Lincoln had a life mask made of him on the 4th floor of the St. Nicholas Hotel by Thomas D. Jones. This picture in the lobby of the hotel, now converted into upscale apartments, advertises that fact. I haven’t seen this picture of Lincoln anywhere else, so I wonder who the artist is. The caption reads, "T.D. Jones sculpting Abraham Lincoln from life in the St. Nicholas Hotel".
